Statistics show that from 1985 to today, the number of men diagnosed with prostate cancer has tripled, with an estimated 50000 expected to die of this disease in 1995.

If the cancer is located in the prostate gland and considered slow-growing, May some doctors recommend a conservative approach of "watchful waiting". Meanwhile, the patient will receive no treatment, but the doctor will closely monitor the size and growth of the tumor and regularly check the high levels of PSA. The growth of the tumor is determined by the Gleason system - appearance of the tumor under the microscope distinguishes his grade. The notes are tumors of 1 to 5. A tumor grade 2 appears as lumps and cancer cells with defined borders and is less likely to grow rapidly. A high-quality tumor is scattered with jagged edges that are likely to spread quickly. However, after taking into account the tumor stage, tumor grade, the man's age and overall human health, some doctors recommend other treatment methods. The cancer can develop in almost any organ or tissue, such as lung, colon, breast, skin, bone or nerve tissue.

The most common sites are:

The prostate 24%

Breast 13%

Lung 13%

Colon and rectum 9%

Bladder 3%

Utérus 2.5%

The cause of cancer is estimated to be a combination of genetic factors and outside carcinogens such as tobacco, viruses, infection, asbestos, vinyl chloride, a poor diet.

Cancer often has no symptoms, it is therefore important that you limit your risk factors and undergo cancer screening appropriate. The signs and symptoms depend on where the cancer is the size of cancer, and how it affects the nearby organs or structures.

If cancer spreads (metastasis), then May symptoms occur in different parts of the body. As a cancer develops, it starts growing nearby organs, blood vessels and nerves. If the cancer is in a critical area, as some parts of the brain, even the smallest tumors can cause symptoms early.

But sometimes cancers start in places where it does not cause symptoms until the cancer has grown quite large. The cancer of the pancreas, for example, are not used to grow large enough to be felt outside the body.
At the time of pancreatic cancer causes of these signs or symptoms, he generally reached an advanced stage.

A cancer May also cause symptoms common to many other problems, such as fever, fatigue and weight loss. This May be because the cancer uses lots of energy body or May cause the release of substances which affect metabolism.

Some lung cancers make hormone-like substances that affect levels of calcium in the blood, affecting the nerves and muscles and cause weakness and dizziness.

It is important to know what some of the (non-specific) signs and symptoms of cancer, but remember that having one of these does not mean you have cancer.

Most cancers can be treated and cured some, depending on the type, location and stage. The earlier the cancer is detected, the better the prognosis.

A good example of the importance of finding an early cancer is melanoma skin cancer. Skin cancer can be easily removed if it has not grown deep into the skin, and the 5-year survival rates (percentage of people living at least 5 years after diagnosis) at this stage is nearly100%.

Screening for breast cancer with mammography has been shown to reduce the average phase diagnosis of breast cancer in a population.
The colorectal cancer can be detected by fecal occult blood testing and colonoscopy, which reduces both the incidence of colon cancer and mortality, presumably through the detection and removal of pre-malignant polyps.
Similarly, cytology tests of the cervix (using the Pap test) leads to the identification and excision of precancerous lesions.
Testiculaire self-examination is recommended for men beginning at the age of 15 years to detect testicular cancer.

Signs and symptoms

Pain May be an early symptom of some cancers such as bone cancer or testicular cancer.

In the long term constipation, diarrhea, or a change in the size of stool May be a sign of colon cancer.

With pain urinating, blood in urine, or a change of function of the bladder (such as more frequent or less frequent urination) could be linked to the bladder or prostate cancer.

Cancers of the skin and bleeding May resemble wounds that do not heal.

A long-term pain in the mouth could be a cancer of the mouth and must be addressed immediately, especially in patients who smoke, chew tobacco, or frequently drink alcohol.

Wounds on the penis or vagina May, or be signs of infection or a cancer early, and must not be neglected.

Unusual bleeding can occur either early or advanced cancer.

Blood in the sputum (mucus) May be a sign of lung cancer.

Blood in the stool (or a dark or black stool) could be a sign of the colon or rectum cancer.

Blood in urine May be a sign of bladder or kidney cancer.

A bloody nipple discharge May be a sign of breast cancer.

Many cancers can be felt through the skin, mostly in the breast, testicle, lymph nodes (glands), and soft tissues of the body. A lump or thickening May be a beginning or the end signs of cancer.

Although they often have other causes, indigestion or swallowing problems May be a sign of cancer of the esophagus, stomach or pharynx (throat).

A cough that does not go far May be a sign of lung cancer.

Cancer May be suspected for a variety of reasons, but the definitive diagnosis of most malignant tumors must be confirmed by histological examination of cancer cells by a pathologist.

                TREATMENT
Once diagnosed, the cancer is usually treated with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Radiation May be used to treat almost all types of solid tumors, including brain cancers, breast, cervix, larynx, lung, pancreas, prostate, skin, l 'stomach, uterus, or soft tissue sarcomas.

Most forms of chemotherapy target all rapidly dividing cells and are not specific to cancer cells, although a certain degree of specificity May come from the inability of many cancer cells to repair damage to DNA, while normal cells can generally.

Contemporary methods to generate an immune response against tumors intra BCG immunotherapy for cancer of the bladder surface, and the use of interferon and other cytokines to induce an immune response to cancer cells kidney and melanoma patients.

Drugs against pain, as morphine and oxycodone, and anti-emetics, drugs to suppress nausea and vomiting, are very commonly used in patients with cancer-related symptoms. transmission and disease.

Advances in cancer research have made a vaccine to prevent cancer. The vaccine protects against four types of HPV, which causes 70% of cancers of the cervix and 90% of genital warts.

The consensus on diet and cancer is that obesity increases the risk of developing cancer. The fight against cancer components of the diet are also proving to be more numerous and varied than previously understood, if patients are increasingly advised to consume fresh, unprocessed fruits and vegetables for maximum health.

Breast Cancer - Types of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a cancer that begins in cells within the world, breast cancer is the second most common cancer after lung cancer (10.4% of total cancer incidence, both sexes to count) and the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths. The world, breast cancer is by far the most common cancer among women, with an incidence rate more than double that of colorectal cancer and cancer of the cervix and about three times that of cancer lung. However breast cancer mortality in the world is only 25% higher than that of lung cancer in women. In 2005, breast cancer caused 502000 deaths worldwide (7% of cancer deaths and nearly 1% of all deaths). The number of cases worldwide has increased considerably since the 1970's, a phenomenon partly due to modern lifestyles in the Western world.

In most cases, there is no clear causes normal breast cells become cancerous. Doctors know that only 5 percent to 10 percent of breast cancers are hereditary. The families who have genetic defects in one of two genes, gene for breast cancer 1 (BRCA1) or gene Breast Cancer 2 (BRCA2), have a much greater risk of developing both breast cancer and the ovary. Other inherited mutations - including ataxia-telangiectasia gene mutation, the cell cycle control kinase 2 (CHEK-2) and the gene p53 tumor suppressor gene - also make it more likely that you will develop breast cancer. If one of these genes is present in your family, you have a 50 percent chance of having the gene.

Inflammatory breast cancer is a type of breast cancer that involves the skin of the breast. This type of cancer is less than 4% of all breast cancers diagnosed each year in the USA. The physical symptoms of inflammatory breast cancer include redness of the skin and breast swelling breast. In some cases, a single May be present.

Types of Breast Cancer

Tumor grade : If the cancer is a type invasive, the pathologist assigned a grade. The quality is based on how closely cells in the sample of tissue resemble normal breast tissue under the microscope. The classification of information and the type of cell, allows your doctor to determine treatment options.

Tubulaires cancer : This rare type of breast cancer takes its name from the appearance of cancer cells under a microscope. Although it is an invasive breast cancer, the outlook is more favourable than for invasive ductal carcinoma or invasive lobular carcinoma.

Metaplastic carcinoma : Met plastic cancer represents less than 1 percent of all new breast cancers diagnosed. This damage tends to remain localized and contains several types of cells that are not generally considered other forms of breast cancer. The prognosis and treatment is similar to the invasive ductal carcinoma.

Lobulaire carcinoma in situ is NOT cancer. But this is a sign that a woman who has it is 6 to 7 times more likely to develop cancer during their lifetime, a woman who does not have LCIS the same risk as you would if your mother and sister both had cancer.

Most of the songs prove to be fibrocystic changes. The term "fibrocystic" refers to fibrosis and cysts. Fibrosis is the formation of fibrous (scar or type) tissue, and cysts are filled with fluid bags. It is less common than breast cancer but is considered the most serious and deadly of all gynecological cancers. This is because the cancer is usually advanced before it is diagnosed, making treatment difficult. The ovaries can be easily examined and, because the signs are not clear, late diagnosis is common.

Due to the lack of screening tests available, it is imperative to know the early symptoms and possible risk factors.

Understanding ovarian cancer
The ovaries are two small organs that are part of the female reproductive system and are located on either side of the uterus. These ovaries contain germ cells that become eggs that are released when the woman menstruates.

They also produce estrogen and progesterone, hormones that adjust the menstrual cycle and have an effect on the growth of breasts and body hair as well as affecting the development of the female body shape.

What types of tumors are there?
This normally happens in an organized manner, but sometimes they grow abnormally and form a growth that we are experiencing as a tumour. The tumour can be benign, or it could be malignant. If it is benign, it is not cancerous and does not spread to other parts of his body. A malignant tumour, on the other hand, is often spread and cancer, making mestastases or secondary cancers.

Ovarian cancer is malignant and may occur in one or both ovaries. There are three main groups who are linked to the cell where the cancer starts. Epithelial ovarian cancer, as its name suggests, grows in the epithelium which is the surface of the ovary. It is the most common and accounts for about 90 percent of ovarian cancer. It mainly affects postmenopausal women.

Another type of epithelial tumor is a tumor borderline growing much more slowly than its regular counterpart. These can usually be removed successfully, even if diagnosed at an advanced stage.

There is a very rare form of ovarian cancer called germ cell ovarian cancer that begins in cells that develop into eggs. This represents only 5 per cent of cancers of the ovary and usually occurs only in women under age 30. The other five percent of ovarian cancers are generally sex cord stromal cells ovarian cancer that affects the cells responsible for ovarian female hormones. It can affect women of all ages.

Who is at risk for ovarian cancer?
The cause of ovarian cancer is unknown but there are certain risk factors that have been identified through research. Although these risk factors can increase your risk of developing ovarian cancer, they do not mean that you will necessarily develop the disease. However, knowledge of these risk factors can be useful. If you are interested in having one of these risk factors, it is important to talk to your health professional.

Factors that may increase your risk of ovarian cancer are:

Age-About 90 percent of ovarian cancers affecting women more than 40 years.

Cultural background - white women in western society have higher rates of ovarian cancer in the African or Asian woman.

Number of pregnancies - Women who have never been pregnant seem to have a higher risk of ovarian cance

Family history - Between 5 and 10% of ovarian cancers are genetic in origin. Researchers believe that the genes responsible for breast cancer (BRCA1 and BRCA2) are involved in almost all cases of familial ovarian cancer and familial breast cancer. It is also believed that these same damaged genes may be responsible for some cancers of the colon and endometrium. If you are genetically predisposed to the entire ovary, breast, endometrial cancer or colon, you may have an increased risk of ovarian cancer.

Infertility and taken ovulation - Women who have had ovulation may be at higher risk even if infertility itself is a risk factor of this kind can not be taken as a clear indication.

Hormone Replacement Therapy - Use of estrogen only HRT is usually when you have had a hysterectomy, was identified as a possible risk factor for ovarian cancer, especially if you have been on this therapy for more ten years.

Factors lifestyle - Obesity is a risk factor for ovarian cancer is like a diet that is rich in fat.

Can I reduce the risk of ovarian cancer?
Currently, there are no known procedures to prevent or detect early ovarian cancer, but there are ways to reduce risk. Some of these factors are:

Oral contraceptives - Research has shown that the use of oral contraceptives may reduce the risk of ovarian cancer up to 60 percent if taken for a period of five years during your lifetime.

Pregnancy and lactation - Breastfeeding delays ovulation after childbirth, and therefore reduces the risk of ovarian cancer. However, there is no guarantee that breastfeeding will prevent you from developing ovarian cancer.

Enjoy a diet low in fat - A diet rich in fat has been identified as a risk factor for ovarian cancer. Therefore, it makes sense to stick to a low-fat diet with lots of fruits and vegetables.

Tubal ligation or hysterectomy - These operations are executed by a single valid medical reason, but it is believed that they reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.

People with a strong family history of ovarian cancer may choose to speak to a genetic counsellor who can determine if you are at risk of developing the disease. If your family history suggests the damaged genes associated with ovarian, breast, endometrial or colon cancer, it may be wise to have genetic testing. If these tests show the damaged BRCA1 or BRCA2, you may be a gynecological oncologist refe.rred to consider ways to reduce your risk.

Early symptoms of ovarian cancer
Because there is no screening test for ovarian cancer, it is recommended that you have a vaginal pelvic regular monitoring to see if there are any changes in your ovaries. It is also essential that you consult your physician specialist if you notice any possible signs of the disease. Because the symptoms are often common to many other medical conditions, the diagnosis of ovarian cancer can be difficult

However, if you have any of these symptoms, which are unusual for you and that persist for more than a week, see your doctor without delay.

Some symptoms of ovarian cancer may include:

Stomach discomfort of pain in the pelvic region

The persistent nausea or wind.

Feeling constantly bloated or "full".

Unexplained weight gain.

Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss

Bowel changes

From frequency or urgency to urinate

Lethargy.

The pain during intercourse.

Unexplained vaginal bleeding.

Sometimes, cancers of the ovary were wrongly diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome or menopause, so if you are interested, ask to be referred to a gynecologic oncologist who can order tests to rule out cancer ' ovary. It is rare that these symptoms are ovarian cancer, but if it is early detection gives an excellent chance of survival.

To diagnose ovarian cancer
If your doctor suspects ovarian cancer, you will be referred to a gynecologic oncologist who organise testing, which may include some or all of the following:

A pelvic exam.

Blood tests

Stomach and chest radiographs.

A barium enema to remove intestinal problems

Échographies

If the results show a risk of ovarian cancer, it will be advisable to have an operation to confirm the diagnosis (none of these tests can be sure). During the operation, if the surgeon finds ovarian cancer, they will normally kill the cancer and the ovaries. It is important to understand before surgery that this will happen if you can learn all about your illness and the results prior to the transaction.

Why only some smokers get lung cancer?

Smoking is the most powerful known cause of lung cancer. The question is: Why do some smokers for a long time to descend to the deadly disease, while others escape? New genetic research reveals a culprit who was also upping praying for the person likely to become addicted to cigarettes.

Two new studies linking a variation in a gene residing on chromosome 15 (a person of 23 pairs of chromosomes) with an increased risk of developing lung cancer, a third study suggests that the same mutation affects a person tends to become addicted to cigarettes and, by extension, to develop the terrible disease. Lung cancer is diagnosed in about 200000 Americans and kills more than 150000 annually.

The new research published in both Nature and Nature Genetics, suggests that people with this gene have a loophole 30 percent greater chance of developing the disease, which is often fatal. But studies differ on the potential risk of dependency. The results allow a better understanding of how this genetic variation and smoking interact to cause lung cancer. They provide "new targets to begin to think about how to treat drug addiction and, also, of course, for the prevention or treatment of lung cancer," says Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Bethesda, Md., who was not involved in the study.

The research teams scanned a list of 300000 minutes changes in the genome where a (unit of genetic material) has been either deleted, duplicated or replaced. (These changes are called single nucleotide polymorphisms, or SNPs.) In one study, scientists at the Iceland-based biotechnology company deCODE genetics tried to correlate these genetic variations of a person to smoke, other research efforts have tried to bind them for lung cancer.

DeCODE Icelandic 50000 The group questioned about their smoking habits, using the information gleaned from this investigation as well as 40000 genome scans of smokers admitted to the pack, researchers have zeroed on a CHRNA variant of the gene, which codes for a receptor on nerve cells can be stimulated by nicotine. The amended version of the gene was more common among the heaviest smokers than it was in the rest of the population. "Non-smokers have a higher frequency of this variant that smokers who smoke between one and 10 cigs a day," says the neurologist Kári Stefánsson, deCODE's CEO, "because if you smoke and you have this variant You tend to smoke more than 10 cigs per day. "

When the team Stefánsson applied statistics on the incidence of lung cancer, she found that people with two copies of the altered gene had a huge 70 percent more likely to develop lung cancer, those with a copy had an increased risk of 30 percent.

These results are almost identical to those of other studies and one (in the wild) conducted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France (which is based on the examination of about 11000 volunteers, 7500 d 'Among them were smokers) and the other (in Nature Genetics), by a team at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, who reviewed 9000 people, about 4000 of them were smokers.

Paul Brennan, who led the study of the CIRC, said he initially believed that the risk of lung cancer was raised by genetic predisposition to become addicted. "The genes that made you more likely to smoke, are you more likely to smoke, you are less likely to give up, and therefore more likely to develop lung cancer," he says. But his research has shown that, in fact, the gene seemed an independent person increase the risk of developing the disease-at arm's length.

NIDA's Volkow suggests that the gene variant may lead some people to smoke more because of its effect on the reward centers of the brain (associated with addictive behavior), and may increase the risk of cancer, too, because it also plays a role in lung tissue function. Epidemiologist Christopher Amos, Texas, who led the study, notes that even nicotine receptor involved in this study has been shown in previous research to stimulate tumor growth in other areas of the body, including the thymus (an body located near the lungs, which produces immune cells). "The nicotine or its derivatives can stimulate the cells to proliferate, to participate in the development of new blood vessels and also not to undergo cell death," he says, all of which are characteristics of tumor formation and the growth. "So that raises the possibility that there is a direct effect through the nicotine in the activation of the cells become cancerous."

What is the actual cause of skin cancer?

Skin cancer is one of the most terrible diseases that could happen to anyone. As much as in modern medicine learns to identify the major causes of skin cancer which consist of certain activities at risk. Many people seem more concerned with how to protect and stay away from the disease. However, it is likely that except for the person who may have a genetic disease skin cancer, the disease manifests itself more to those who work or live in the environment, which has a greater chance of skin cancer . This time the reasons for living or working in the environment, such must be very careful and aware of these sons and also to find ways of effective protection. You can find the following information useful in terms of identifying the major cause of skin cancer, and whether you are in such an environment and to prepare in case you found that you are in early stage of the disease.

We will take a look at the first condition that usually (and most of the time) is the leading cause of skin cancer, sunlight. According to the fact that sunlight is extremely beneficial for human health and the human body can not function without sunlight functionally. Because sunlight has Ultra Violet radiation, which is really necessary for the human body to generate significant glucose and hemoglobin. At the same time, the ultraviolet radiation is also the leading cause of skin cancer if there exceed the amount that the person taking it. For example, given the person who has to work in the state as a golf caddy, these people is obviously facing a very strong sunlight all the time. Some people in this category of jobs can try to protect themselves by wearing cloth which prevent the skin to have direct contact with sunlight, but in fact, still radiate ultraviolet radiation to the skin, even though it is not a direct contact. The only way of protection is to wear a thick cloth to prevent radiation or using UV lotion applied to the skin.

When talking about irradiation, the other condition which may risk of skin cancer and early entry into my mind belongs to the person who work in a hospital X-ray room. Yes, it is one of the conditions of risk of skin cancer. At the same that UV radiation from sunlight, x-ray contain some radioactive substances that the impact of human skin and cause cancer if the person has direct contact too often.

Another condition that the risk of cancer of the skin, apart from these two major factors is to have direct contact with a certain type of chemicals such as hydrocarbons and arsenic. It can be seen these days as many of this type that we use in everyday life contains these types of chemicals. In some cases, for many women who have to use excessive cosmetics on daily basis could also be a risk of skin cancer.

Six simple ways of how to avoid cancer

People do research and surveys to find drugs to kill cancer. Cancer can happen in our bodies, because of bad way of life. We never pay attention and neglect of food to eat every day and tend to consume junk food. We must choose food to eat, so we can prevent cancer. There are six simple ways of how to prevent cancer, please apply the 6 steps below;

1.Eat vegetables and fruit
Vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamins and anti oxidance. Serve seven times a day, so that we can be avoided by cancer.

2.avoid smoking
Smoking has a high risk of a few cancers, 70% of the risk of death caused by the smoke. Avoid smoking is the best choice for you.

3.Used steam cleaner than carpet shampoo.
People tend to use the shampoo carpets than steam to clean carpets as easy and quick to use. The carpet shampoo contain carcinogenic, a chemical that easily create a cancer. Used carpet steam with hot water is a chemical that the investor.

4.Eat Brazil nuts
Brazil nuts are rich in selenium, two Brazil nuts are the same as 200 mcg of selenium. If you eat two Brazil nuts per day, reducing by 50% the risk of cancer.

5.Get the Sun Ray
Getting sunlight 15 1000 IU of vitamin D. Survey demonstrated that vitamin D can reduce the risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer by 30%.

6.Eat colored vegetables and fruits
Red fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, watermelon bit and may reduce by 40% the risk of skin cancer. More people are diagnosed with this cancer than any other. Therefore, it is important to know the symptoms of skin cancer, in order to protect yourself and those you love.

Skin cancer often appears as a growth on the surface of the skin. Moles or trademarks that have been present since birth are rarely cancerous. Changes in the appearance of moles or marks, however, may be a sign of malignancy, and should be evaluated by a doctor.

Sometimes skin cancer looks like a pimple or sore that does not heal. These areas may bleed, or infiltrate clear liquid. They may develop scabs, appearing as if they are beginning to heal, but then begin to bleed or infiltrate again.

Different skin cancers develop in different parts of the body. Basal cell carcinoma usually appear on surfaces of skin frequently exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck or upper back, and sometimes the hands or arms. They often seep fluid yellowish scab over and over again to ooze. When the skin is pulled tight, basal cell cancers are often grey in color. Sometimes tiny blood vessels can be seen in tumors.

In comparison, squamous cell carcinomas are more likely than basal cell cancers to appear on the backs of the arms or hands, but often found on the face, neck or upper back. They also appear painful reddish, scaly growths. They also infiltrate or bleed, scab over, and drain again.

Malignant melanoma, the most dangerous type, usually appears on the trunk or legs. These may appear as changes in moles or freckles, or may begin to grow spontaneously from a part of the skin that appears perfectly normal. These are often multi-colored, and can be brown, black, white, red or blue.

Rarely, people can develop other types of skin cancers. Kaposi sarcoma is found among people with weakened immune systems, such as people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), or those who have had organ transplants. These are painful spots that appear on the skin and can spread to the lungs or the digestive organs.

People with a high risk of skin cancer, such as those who are frequently exposed to sunlight or individuals with a family member who had the cancer should consider reviewing their skin often. Skin cancer is usually very curable if it is found and treated early. Being aware of the symptoms of skin cancer and examination of your skin often will allow you to get medical treatment early, and can save your life.

Lung cancer caused by asbestos

Exposure to asbestos can cause a number of lung diseases, including asbestosis, pleural fibrosis and lung cancer. Asbestosis results in widespread scarring of the lungs and can leave victims short of breath and more likely to develop lung cancer. Pleural fibrosis causes inflammation, hardening and thickening of the lining of the lung tissue, but has a number of symptoms can be fairly easy to diagnose.

The other type of lung disease that can develop after exposure to asbestos is asbestos lung cancer. It can affect both sides of the interior of the lungs or the outer skin. Although it is impossible to determine the exact figure for the number of people who develop the disease due to asbestos, it is estimated that there are about as many deaths from asbestos lung cancer in Britain each year as there are dead mesothelioma.

The reason why we can not say how many deaths from lung cancer are declining to it because there are many other factors that can lead to disease in the developing world. Tobacco smoke is just one of these so that it would not be possible to tell whether a person has cancer because of exposure to asbestos or because they smoked.

Asbestos lung cancer can be difficult to detect because in the early stages, there may be no symptoms. There are a small number as having a cough, chest pain and weight loss, but it may also indicate other diseases, which is what makes it so difficult to diagnose.

If you think someone may be suffering from asbestos lung cancer while a number of measures will be taken to confirm it. A complete physical examination will be carried out and more than likely a sample of mucus (pin) will be tested for any cancer cells. If any cancerous cells were then either a tissue sample will be taken or a biopsy will be performed to achieve a good result.

Those most likely to suffer from lung cancer, asbestos are those who have been exposed during their working lives. The majority of patients who have been diagnosed with the disease once worked in the mines, mills and factories. However, others who have suffered high levels of exposure to asbestos include construction, boilermaking and repair of automobiles.

An increasing number of people who suffer from diseases such as lung cancer, asbestos claim compensation from companies that have failed to implement security measures to prevent exposure heavy. If you need a lawyer with asbestos, there are companies that are eligible for support payments various things such as the cost of health care that you have accumulated.

Your history of cancer is important

Prevention is the best cure. Maybe you heard of this before and thought to yourself "if only all those who are sick would have taken better care of themselves, they would not have to suffer from cancer now." If you are blowing out a cigarette or sunbathing than you think, know that you are doing what people have done for centuries.

Humans, by nature, prefer to put more and broader education or creating healthier habits until they are already experiencing the negative effects of their actions. Hospitals are now lots of people who decided they were "immune" or other things that are "more important" than their state of health. The first question that you should examine your concern is family history of cancer.

The cancer arises from the cell mutations are heredity is the biggest risk factor in your vulnerability. If you are not familiar with your family medical history, it is time to take an interest and get acquainted with what can be unpleasant demons lurking in your genes. Awareness will allow you to prepare properly and to avoid possible tragedy later. If your parents are still alive, they are the best source first.

I recommend that you do a Web search for a pedigree chart, you can print the form and fill in the blanks. A good pedigree chart will help you find your heritage back four or five generations, covering more than one hundred years of history of your family. There will be places to take note full name, maiden name, marriage dates, dates of birth, dates of death, and some important places. Tracing your family history can make an immense satisfaction in addition to inform you of possible health hazards.

Other family members may be needed to assist in completing the picture. If there had been no cases of cancer in your family for the last four or five generations, you must be certain that your heredity is not a risk factor coming down with cancer. Some of the resources available to those who have no family to exploit the resources are family history Web sites. One of the most popular of these sites is Ancestry dot com, which offers broad access to the entire world of genealogical records, they may obtain a '.

The site is not free to use, but it is the most popular and certainly one of the most thorough. Some libraries offer free access to the site, so it may be worth a call to the library near you. Remember libraries college near home, they can access your local public library does not work.

As you research the history of your family, pay attention to any deaths due to "natural causes", as it is possible that your ancestor has suffered from a kind of cancer that has never been detected. Let us hope there are enough newspapers and magazines, as well as newspapers and census records to help you rebuild your tree strong enough to see how hereditary risk, you can run with cancer.

Cancer Guide Center Privacy Statement

What follows is the Privacy Statement for all Cancer Guide Center blogs including all the websites run under the cancer-guide-center.blogspot.com domain.

Please read this statement regarding our blogs. The imagination and determination of fund-raising activities is the only limit to the world of wacky charity trips.

However, one of the most popular ways to raise money is still the proven charity walk. The beauty of this form of fundraising is that everyone can participate and toddlers and adolescents OAPs, and it can be done anywhere, from the capitals of rural areas.

The march of events, such as Walk Wonders, which raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, also have the bonus to convene a group of people for a common cause. In addition, unlike most extravagant fundraising activities, there is no expensive set up costs. There is a selection of organized walks taking place throughout the United Kingdom throughout the year, ranging from short walks in families, much longer and even several days of hiking adventures.

Most of them require no minimum amount of funds to be raised - every little helps. But, if you find that there is no cancer charity walk or other organized fundraising event in your area, why not yours? Many charities Cancer offers help to those who want to create their own event, and provide support and exposure through their organizations.

People involved in the cancer charity walks for different reasons. Some are former patients who have recovered and want to give something back, and some have a friend or family member who are being processed or want to pay tribute to a loved one who died, and Many just want to do something positive for the less fortunate Qu'eux own.

Whatever your reason for wanting to take part, walking to raise funds for cancer is a way for people to contribute to a good cause, enjoy a healthy activity and to participate in collective action family outing .

Pancreatic cancer symptom

An epidemiological study has suggested that eating lots of fruits and vegetables may help reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer in men.

The case-control study involved 585 cases of pancreatic cancer and 4779 controls in eight Canadian provinces between 1994 and 1999. Dietary habits were studied and analyzed using a multivariate analysis method. Identified and grouped the three dietary patterns, WESTERN characterized by high consumption of meat, sugar and refined grains; FRUIT / VEGETABLES characterized by high consumption of fruits and cruciferous vegetables; DRINKER characterized by a high intake of alcohol, wine and beer.

The study found that those who ate the highest amount of fruits and vegetables (highest quartile) are 50 percent less likely to have pancreatic cancer than those who used the lowest amount of fruits and vegetables ( lower quartile). There was no association with the Western diet and drinking patterns.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths among men and the fifth in women. As predicted by the American Cancer Society, about 32180 people in the United States will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and about 31800 die from the disease.

The study was conducted by André Nkondjock and colleagues at the University of Montreal, Montreal, Quebec, Canada and other organizations. Only women have ovaries, so that women receive this type of cancer.

Many types of tumors can begin growing in the ovaries. Some are benign, meaning that they are noncancerous. Benign tumors do not spread and can be treated by removing an ovary or a portion of the ovary. Ovarian cancer, however, is a cancerous tumour. If a cancer is not treated, it can spread to other parts of his body. To better understand what is happening in you, it will help you understand the basic anatomy of the ovary.

The epithelial tumors
The epithelial tumors occur in the epithelium, which is the tissue that covers the outside of the ovary. About 90% of ovarian cancers are of this type. The risk of epithelial ovarian cancer increases with age and occurs primarily in women over 60 years, but it can develop at any age.

There are several types of epithelial cancers of the ovary. They include:

serous

mucinous

endometrioid

clear cell

undifferentiated or unclassifiable.

Germ cell tumor.
These types of tumors develop in the production of fabrics egg. About 5 percent of women with ovarian cancer have germ cell tumors. This type of cancer usually occurs in adolescents and young women and is effectively treated if detected early in the process.

There are 2 Germ Cell Tumour
Endodermal sinus tumor: This is a rare type of tumor that develops in girls and young women. It is characterized by a rapid growth process and can spread rapidly. Chemotherapy is the most effective treatment for this type of germ cell tumor.

Choriocarcinoma: This is another rare type of cancer that develops in the placenta during pregnancy. Choriocarcinomas can grow and spread rapidly. The most effective treatment for this type of cancer is chemotherapy.
Stromal tumors.

These tumors develop in estrogen and progesterone-producing tissue that holds the ovary.

Borderline ovarian cancers
Borderline ovarian cancer may consist of serous, clear cell, or endometrioid mucin, but spread slowly and have a higher cure rates. Ten to fifteen percent of cases are epithelial border, and they develop most often between the ages of thirty and eighty. In most cases, surgical removal is enough to heal a borderline case growth.

Serous tumors
Forty percent of serous epithelial tumors are growths. Séreuse cells produce a thin, liquid fluid. Séreuse growths can be benign (serous cystadenoma), or malignant (serous cystadenocarcinoma). Fifty percent of these tumors are malignant. Women between the ages of forty and sixty are more likely to develop serous tumors.

Treatment
Local Therapy: surgery and radiation therapy are. They remove or destroy ovarian cancer in the pelvis. When ovarian cancer has spread to other parts of the body, the therapy can be used to control the disease in those specific areas.

Surgery - The first step in the treatment of ovarian cancer usually involves surgical removal of the cancerous tissue as much as possible (so-called optimal debulking or surgical cytoreduction optimal). Optimal debulking surgery impacts prognosis of women (cancer outcome), it also affects the choice of chemotherapy treatments as well. Une femme est plus susceptible d'avoir optimal cytoreduction si sa première intervention chirurgicale pratiquée par un oncologue gynécologique, spécialiste des cancers de l'appareil reproducteur féminin. This is discussed elsewhere.

What is the real cause of skin cancer?

Extracts from green tea to reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers

Extracts from green tea are among the most widely used medicines former agents, while androgens are probably the oldest drugs used in a purified Form traditional Chinese medicine. Supplements containing green tea extract is a natural way to reduce weight with very little risk of side effects. Extracts from green tea are used by thousands of people for a wide range of health conditions, and it is yet another ingredient in some drinks and snack foods.

Starting from several types of cancer, skin disorders, green tea has played a major role in helping to heal the body. A number of chronic diseases have been associated with free radical-induced oxidative damage, including cancer, heart disease, suppressed immune function and accelerated aging. The main catechin in green tea, EGCG, appears to inhibit the growth of cancer cells as well as play a role instimulating apoptosis (programmed cell death), both of which are essential for cancer prevention. There is also evidence that some studies of green tea provides a protective immune, particularly in the case of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

There is a lower incidence of cardiovascular disease and cancer in Asia, where many people smoke, which can be explained by the high consumption of tea, especially green. Extracts from green tea as an effective treatment for patients who suffer from damaged skin following radiation treatment for cancer. Men with the highest consumption of flavonoids (from fruits and vegetables) have about half the risk of heart disease and cancer compared to those with the lowest consumption.

Studies of green tea extracts show that they can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke and reduce the risk of certain cancers, could prevent Alzheimer's-like brain damage, as well as to increase exercise endurance. Some substances in green tea diets are said to help destroy cancer cells without damaging surrounding tissues at all.

EGCG may cause cancer cells to die in the same way as normal cells. Scientists have reason to believe that free radicals play a role in a variety of degenerative diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, Alzheimer's disease and even cancer. Even discounting the hype about the tabloids, green tea extract (polyphenols, catechins, EGCG) seem to be very powerful in this role in the prevention of cancer, and they are also blessed with an extraordinarily low toxicity.

At medicinal purposes, green tea is considered superior to ordinary black tea because it has as much as five times more polyphenols, which are of interest to us as powerful antioxidants and cancer preventive. Some researchers believe that antioxidants in green tea may have a protective effect against certain cancers. Prostate cancer also known as the "Hidden" Cancer is a leading cause of death among American men.

A study conducted on men exposed to an increased risk of developing prostate cancer has shown that substances in green tea known as catechins, are highly effective in preventing the development of prostat cancer. It is estimated that regularly drinking green tea reduces the risk of prostate cancer by two-thirds. Supplements are better because they do not have caffeine, and a capsule equivalent to five cups of tea (depending on the power capsule).

Bras and breast cancer Cover-up

"Who can you trust when your culture is the greatest enemy of your health? Can you trust your culture leading authorities? Can you trust your government to culture? Can you trust your culture private industry? "

We have asked these questions in 1995, at the end of our book, Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras. Before writing our book, we have sent the details of our research at the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, President's Cancer Panel, the American Women's Medical Association, National Organization for Women, the National Women's Health Network, and the National Women's Health Resource Center. There was no answer. Not one. Given the lack of interest, we have decided to publish our findings in a book, save the information directly to women who need to hear it.

Are women, but getting the message?
It has been 13 years since the book was first published. More time, more than 500000 women in the United States alone died of breast cancer, with another 2000000 having been diagnosed with this terrible disease - a disease that is in most cases preventable by simply loosening or eliminating the bra. And yet, this information has been actively repressed rescue and censored by the medical industry and lingerie.

Examples of suppression and censorship
A large public relations firm in New York City is ready and willing to help us to provide this information to the public. "My wife just had breast cancer, and I am sure you are right," the head of the firm said. A large ad media and the celebration was planned. A few days later, however, the company withdrew its offer of aid, saying that one of their clients, a major medical center, their objections to work with us.

In Sydney, Australia has accepted public relations firm to publicize our work when we were making efforts to raise awareness in their own country. But it also has been reversed. We asked if they had any conflicts of interest, such as lingerie industry customers. They said they did not. But as it turned out, they only represent a pharmaceutical company that makes a drug against breast cancer, and prevention of breast cancer and its treatment are in conflict, they said.

The Intimate Apparel Council (which is the American association for commercial multi-billion dollar bra industry) have threatened our publisher, Avery Publishing Group, with a lawsuit if Dressed To Kill was released. The publisher said advertising would spread the word. The trial never took place.

After the book was released, the NBC television news show, Dateline, was interested to do a story on our work. We have been extensively interviewed by a skeptical journalist who has become an advocate. The story was then halted abruptly. The producer confidentially explained that the policy of General Electric, owner of NBC, is to prevent the dissemination of news stories that may have a negative impact on the interests of other GE. As it happens, GE is a manufacturer of mammography machines.

The women's magazines like Glamour, Self, and others have stories critics condemning our work, and to find "experts" to encourage women to continue to bear arms. Magazine She planned a story on the positive bra or cancer link, but he was forced to be drawn from the history of bra advertisers. In various newspapers in the world, such as the Guardian in the United Kingdom, the stories were fired before publication because of fear that they may panic the public, "including their lingerie advertisers.

The British Fashion Council (which is the British equivalent of the Intimate Apparel Council) has published the Manual of Health breast in 1996 to oppose our efforts. They announced the formation of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Foundation, which is receiving donations bra from the sale to fund genetic research in breast cancer. The book criticized our work, arguing, "The idea that wearing a bra encourages cancer toxins by trapping was recently put forward by researchers at the Institut d'Etudes Culturogenic (sic) in Hawaii. Researchers on Aug. institutions promptly dismissed as claptrap. " Without any medical evidence or research, this book informs women that wearing bras is an absolute necessity for health, and must be worn as early as possible in life in order to prevent damage breast.

Our publisher, Avery, was purchased by the giant Penguin Putnam in 1998. The new publisher has no book list for three years and has refused to resume publication rights to copyright holders, singer and Grismaijer. The book has been virtually inaccessible, and it was thought to have been exhausted. Eventually, after repeated requests, the publishing rights were released to us in October 2001. (ISCD press has been keeping it in the press since then).

A television documentary was produced in 2000 by Channel 4 in Britain, drew, Bras-The Bare Facts. In the documentary, 100 women with fibrocystic breast disease went bra-free for 3 months to document the effect on breast cysts and pain. Two prominent British breast surgeons conducted the study. The results were staggering, and clearly demonstrated that the bra is a serious health hazard. We have been interviewed as part of the programme to discuss the bra or cancer connection, which was considered very important by plausible and physicians interviewed. Some feel that, in addition to lymphatic attack, the bra could also cause cancer by overheating breasts. The documentary has made the headlines of newspapers in British Commonwealth countries in the world, but no mention of it was made at all in the United States. The next day the headlines in the United Kingdom has tried to suppress the fears of a bra or cancer link, and doctors in the study quickly distanced themselves from cancer of the question, says Women continue to bear arms. Their research for the documentary was supposed to be published in a medical journal, but has never been. And no further research never materialized to keep track of their work, they said they would do. Extensive news coverage of the program is available on the Internet shortly after it was broadcast, but most of the items were removed shortly thereafter.

No follow-up studies have been done to confirm or refute our research. None. While a Harvard study, published in the European Journal of Cancer in 1991, discovered that bra-free women have a lower rate of breast cancer, the results were not central to the research they are undertaking and were regarded as unimportant and not followed. In fact, beyond our initial 1991-93 and Bra Breast Cancer Study, discussed in detail Dressed To Kill, and our monitoring research in Fiji, in our book, Get It Off!, There still no other studies on the bra or cancer link. Not even a letter or a discussion of the issue can be found in any medical journal. After decades of research on breast cancer, the bra is still completely ignored even as a potential factor for consideration. It's like the study of the disease of the feet and ignoring shoes.

Keep the public mystified
This lack of research and ignorance, are then used by cancer organizations to justify the removal of the item. As the American Cancer Society says on its website (ignoring the Harvard study), "There is no scientifically valid studies that show a correlation between wearing bras of any type and the occurrence of breast cancer. two anthropologists made this association in a book called Dressed To Kill. Their study was not conducted in accordance with the standard principles of epidemiological research, and does not take into account other variables, understood the known risk factors for breast cancer. There is no other credible research to verify this request in any way. "And they do not seem interested in funding such studies in a near future, either. There are other organizations that are equally critical of the bra or cancer link to insufficient research evidence, while discouraging any research on the topic.

It is particularly interesting when breast cancer organizations antagonistic to the question of declaring the bra or cancer link is "misinformation" or a "myth", without any scientific study supporting their claims. They say bras are important for women to wear a support, without any evidence that the bras are safe or necessary. They then encourage regular mammograms, cancer prevention drug (without realising that "preventative therapy" is an oxymoron), and even preventive mastectomy (which means that those who are at high risk for cancer breast, but who do not want to do this can have their breasts removed as a preventive strategy). Of course, it is preferable to remove the bra instead of the breast, bra, but the move is not a billable procedure.

Keep in mind that bras have been associated with other health problems, such as headaches, numbness in the hands, back pain and other problems postural, cysts, pain, depigmentation of the skin, and more. And lymphatic obstruction, which is the result of constriction bra, has been associated with various cancers. Clearly, the bra or cancer link needs further research, while women take the precaution of easing.

Why the resistance?
What could there be damage as a result of our simple advice, or even in research on this issue? Why is the defensive reaction?

There are three reasons:

The bra industry fears of lawsuits. Many insiders admitted to us that for years the industry suspected underwires cause cancer. They know that the tight bras cause cysts and pain. It is only a matter of time until a case is made against a manufacturer of bra. As a defense, industry is shifting the blame to the customer, saying that most of the women wearing their bras too tight, and should get professional connections. (How do you get a well-fitting bra push-up?) Breaking ranks with their peers in the industry, and trying to capitalize on the bad news, the bra are several manufacturers now offer newly patented throat claiming to mitigate the damage, including cancer, caused Classics arm.

The medical industry makes billions each year on the detection and treatment of breast cancer. As mentioned above, there is a conflict between the prevention and treatment of diseases, especially if prevention does not include drugs or surgery. The fact is that our treatment focused on profit medical system is a murder treating this disease, and it has billions to lose if breast cancer is in vogue with the bras. In addition, the bra issue will revolutionize the field of breast cancer, an embarrassment to many researchers. The research on breast cancer, which so far has ignored the issue of the bra is seriously flawed as a result, which is why the "experts" are still unable to explain the cause of over 70% of all breast cancers. Cancer career researchers who have ignored the issue should bra to admit this fatal defect in their work, which they are not inclined to admit in their lives.

Finally, there is the dogmatic, fearing resistance from some women who find their personal identity is linked to their bras that cancer risk rather than to be bra-free (that some women have indeed we said.) Women are cultural entities, so long our culture that despises natural bustline, many women undergo pain, marks and fingerprints red, cysts, and even the threat of cancer rather than confront ridicule potential audience (which never really happens.)

There are also women who believe the myth that bras prevent droopy breasts. The bra industry admits this is a myth, although it always helps to improve sales. In fact, bras because breasts fall, as the breasts become dependent on the support and bra to support natural mechanisms of atrophy of non-use.

Despite the resistance, however, some women have received the message. And many health professionals, who are also suspected arms for years, are now spreading this message. As women, the new and discover that removing the bra also eliminates cysts and pain, the news is spreading through word of mouth.

There are now thousands of websites on the subject, many health care professionals, including doctors, naturopathic physicians, osteopathic physicians, chiropractors, massage, lymphatic specialists, nutritionists, and others who care women and help put an end to this epidemic. Grassroots efforts to keep this information alive and spreads have replaced the traditional approach of medical research, which has disqualified itself by lack of interest and conflict of interest.

When a disease is caused by the culture and habits, attitudes, modes and industries, it is linked to resistance to change. The industries that contribute to the disease will be defensive, and the industries that profit from the disease will be in conflict. However, the truth is a way out, despite the resistance and repression. Few people, however, realize the extent to which this is critical to their physical well-being and ultimately their life expectancy.

In January 2003, the Journal of the American Medical Association featured a study finding that obesity appears to be declining life expectancy, especially among young adults. The researchers compared Body Mass Index (BMI) to longevity and found a correlation between premature death and BMIs. For example, a 20-year-old white male, 5'10 "weighing 288 pounds with a BMI greater than 40 is estimated to lose 13 years of his life as a result of obesity.Jamie McManus, MD, FAAFP and author of" Your Personal Guide to Wellness "notes that while this study referenced extreme levels of obesity, there are still millions of overweight people in developed countries, with a rate of life expectancy is only three to five years less than their healthy weight. Furthermore, it is estimated that there are 600000 deaths related to obesity each year in America.

Just how obesity shorten our life expectancy? The answer to this question is complex, but there is a clear link between obesity and the development of cancer. An extensive study conducted by the American Cancer Institute involving 750000 people have shown that obesity has increased significantly the risk of developing cancer in the following organs: breast, colon, ovaries, uterus, pancreas , kidney and gallbladder.

Michael Thun, MD, vice president of epidemiology and surveillance research for the American Cancer Society (ACS) says one reason obesity may raise cancer risk is because fat cells produce a form of estrogen called estradiol that promotes rapid cell division, which increases the chances of Random genetic error in the replication of cells, which can lead to cancer. In addition, the fat around the abdomen may increase insulin and insulin-like growth factor in blood, which can increase the risk of cancer.

"Women who are obese after menopause than 50% have a higher relative risk of breast cancer," notes Thun, "and obese men have a 40% higher relative risk of colon cancer…. Gallbladder and endometrial cancer risks are five times higher for obese people. " There is evidence that cancer rates in developed countries are increasing by 5 to 15 times faster than developing countries. One of the main contributors to this alarming reality has proven to be diet. In populations where the diet consists mostly of fresh fruit and vegetables and whole grains - unlike the typical Western diet of fatty meats, refined flour, oil and sugar - the risk of cancer is much lower.

The interaction between diet and the development of cancer is an active field of research and Dr David Heber, MD, Ph.D. And author of "What Color Is Your Diet", says "It appears that diet has more significant effects after the cancer has already formed, acting to inhibit or stimulate the growth of this cancer." At the risk of oversimplifying a complex set of interactions, the typical Western diet that leads to obesity may actually act to stimulate the growth of cancer cells. It is never too late to improve your health through healthy eating and adopting a more health-giving life. Here are some simple steps which can make an immediate improvement to your health and vitality.

Check your body mass index (BMI) to determine if weight has become health risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 60% of Americans are overweight, defined as having a BMI (a ratio of height to weight) over 25. Of those, nearly half (27%) considered obese, with a body mass index of 30 or more. In 1980, only 15% of Americans are considered obese. You can check your BMI at the address below.

Match your diet to the needs of your body. If you eat and drink more calories than your body you need to gain weight. Learning to control portion size and calories, make recipes leaner, and rarely eat fast food restaurants. Also learn to taste with healthy choices.

Color your diet with a wide variety of colors, the fight against cancer of fruits and vegetables. There are seven different color ranges of both fruit and vegetables and by choosing between 5 to 9 daily serves from a wide range of fruit and vegetables, we are extending our consumption of cancer (and other diseases) the fight against nutrients.

Eat lean protein at every meal. Protein provides a powerful signal to the brain providing a longer sense of fullness. The good source of protein is essential to controlling your hunger with fewer calories and necessary to maintain your lean muscle mass. Choice of soy protein should be flavoured with fruit shakes, white meat turkey and chicken, seafood such as shrimp, lobster and shrimp, scallops and ocean fish or vegetarians may prefer meat substitutes soy.

Rev your metabolism activity. If you want to enjoy a life of well-being, exercise is a key element. Colleen Doyle, MS, RD, director of nutrition and physical activity for the American Cancer Society (ACS), says adults should do something for 30 minutes each day that takes as much effort as a brisk walk . Children should be active for an hour each day. We are more likely to develop habits around things we enjoy, to find activities you enjoy doing. It is also helpful to build physical activity into your daily routine: use the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator at work, park your car in the parking lot farthest from the bay super marketing and not use the remote to change channels.

Getting help to make sure to establish a healthy diet and achieve your goal weight. Although a small percentage of people possess the discipline to lose weight, many obese people have developed strong thoughts and habits concerning the food they eat. In order to create new habits, most people respond well to some form of encouragement and support consistent. A study entitled "The effects of the Internet on Behavioral Counseling weight loss in adults at risk of type 2 diabetes" shows that participants who had the support of the training of weight loss lost more weight than those who had none. The study concluded that the support of a coach, weight loss can significantly improve weight loss.

Being overweight or obese has been identified next to smoking, as the greatest avoidable risk of cancer. Even small weight losses have been shown to have beneficial effects for health. So, it is never too late to start and you can never be too young or too old to be concerned about your health and do something about achieving a more healthy weight.

Contact us

If you have any question or be our advertiser, please contact below :

Email us :

Call us :

Phone Number :
+6281933213745 (anytime)

Had brain surgery and the application of radiation

In general, the tumors that develop in the brain are often good candidates for radiosurgery. It is a demand for radiation that passes through the skull and tissues and focuses on the mass targeted. The whole process was without bloodshed, skin and the skull are not required to be open to apply.

Radiosurgery is the common term for a type of radiotherapy which is usually done on the brain. Also known as stereotactic surgery, it usually involves radiation of high demand focused on the tumor, but saving the normal healthy tissue. The patient received radiation via linear accelerator or a source of radiation directed by a collection. There will be many small beams sent through the skull into the brain converge on the estate. Radiation therapy will work for both malignant and non-malignant tumors.

Types of radiation, the brain surgery
Radiation therapy has been a great boost for the field of brain surgery. This is a technique that is not only mean less invasive methods, but the patient cost and recovery time is greatly reduced.

Radiation particles come in many forms, such as the Elekta radiosurgery tool, the "Gamma Knife", using doses of gamma rays that bombard cancer growth. This uses beams of 201 small focused radiation to converge on cancer of the tumor. From the source of radiation from the isotope cobalt. The concept was created more than 30 years by a scientist named Lars Leksel, professor of neurosurgery at Karolinsk Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

Another tool radiosurgery, with the trade name Cyberknife, killing tumor sends x-rays instead of Gamma. The beam is controlled by a robotic arm that uses data mapping software to target the mass. The software is used, called 6D, maps of the tumor in an unusual way. It will compensate for patient movement, as well as the use of X-ray data to determine the target area while offsetting the projected error. They claim to be making the accuracy of 0.5 mm error. As Gammaknife, it can be used for both benign and malignant. However, one of the main differences between the two is that Gammaknife is designed only for the cranial radiotherapy.

Expectations of patients with radiosurgery
Because radiation therapy is non-invasive, patients spend less time to recover, often without even needing to rest to recover at all. In the example of the use of the Gamma Knife procedure, the patient can resume normal activities the day after the procedure.

The Gamma Knife will take a long time to administer it. It may take 15 minutes to an hour to set up. There are some surgical procedures that are performed on the skull to adjust the headset when the beamlets are to be sent through.

A cancer survivor Story: increase your chances of success

In my work with clients who are grappling with a serious illness, I came to see what works and what does not. Another way I describe: Do you have a strategy in place to give you the highest probability of success healing? Or do you have a strategy for a possible disaster? Most of the time, this disaster is slow, the actions you take now in the present can reach a result that you do not want.

Remember prediction / prophecy is a specific outcome in the future based on the thoughts and feelings that you experience in this and the actions you take in the present. This principle is science. But the powerful of this principle is that, if you make minor changes in the present, it creates a sea change in the future, it is the "Butterfly Effect".

The following is a list highlighting the connection between strategy and probability. All actions suggested that you see are a win-win situation, really.

If you are diagnosed with cancer or a serious illness and emotional initiate work immediately or at any time, you have a lot better chance of curing the disease. And usually this emotional labor has to do with the forgiveness of yourself or others.

If you make a detoxification programme at an appropriate time after chemotherapy or radiotherapy with a highly trained professional you have a lower likelihood of the disease returning.

If you combine an alternative conventional protocol with your protocol, under the supervision of highly qualified professionals, you have greater probability of success with fewer side effects and no permanent damage.

If you look at your illness as a gift and a learning experience that you have much greater chance of a lot of things: less pain, better decision-making, a successful cure, spiritual growth, a better relationship with those who surround you.

If you quiet your thoughts around fear and allow your wisdom to reach you have a greater likelihood of success.

If you eat well and exercise, the probability of success is higher.

The list could go on, but I am sure you see the principle.
I was shopping in a store kitchen a few weeks back and talked to the manager. I was driving her crazy looking for kitchen utensils aluminium no! It was very useful and we had a good time to explore Bakeware, which is totally free of aluminum. For some reason, after my second trip to the store, I said the reason I was little kooky on this issue was aluminum, because I am a cancer survivor. It turns out that it is too!

Survivors of cancer have a way of finding each other. She told me that she has survived cancer twice. I told him about my work and asked her nicely if it had explored one of the emotional issues that might have led to cancer? She said, "No, she knows where it came from, everything is genetics with it." I said, "It may certainly be part of it, but sometimes the reasons are multi-dimensional." She seemed receptive to the idea. At the moment, I am grateful that I am getting the word out there.

Many people who have been through cancer have not thought about the emotional. I only hope that my writing and the work of the other will educate them to the emotional dynamics behind the disease. For me it is a mission, one that I am honoured to be given.

Tomotherapy the Most Recent Advancement in Hi-tech Cancer Treatment

TomoTherapy, a commercialized form of IMRT, the latest being the radiation delivery systems. Used for the first time in 2003, TomoTherapy treatment is so new that many oncologists are not even trained in that regard. However, TomoTherapy is gaining speed and is now used in more than 100 locations across the United States, Europe and Asia.

TomoTherapy The term comes from the Greek word "tomos," which means "part". Tomography, for example, the medical imaging technology is that the images of sections of the body, most commonly called "slices" in the medical community. Thus, TomoTherapy could be called "slice of therapy."

The "salami-slicing" TomoTherapy comes from the ability to deliver radiation from multiple angles, rather than several fixed positions, as the distribution system revolves around the patient. This allows uninterrupted radiation to the target, providing a higher dose than is usually possible.

In addition, TomoTherapy combines a very sophisticated form of radiation intensity modulation (IMRT), treatment planning and CT guided patient positioning the image. The combination of these technologies enables radiation oncologists to obtain an updated picture of the tumor location, the position of the patient, directly addressing right before delivery, and making last-minute adjustments if necessary.

Essentially, TomoTherapy allows for more accurate, higher dose of radiation delivery while minimizing the treatment of lesions and tissues 6as treatment and recovery time.

TomoTherapy is commonly used to treat cancer of the lungs, head and neck, breast, prostate, and others. If you look at the treatment options and consider TomoTherapy, you should ask your doctor specifically about this. Because it is so new not all doctors are aware of it and its advantages compared to conventional treatment for certain types of cancer.

If TomoTherapy is right for you, a radiation oncologist who has been specially trained in TomoTherapy will be needed. Because of its limited distribution, TomoTherapy few doctors are trained during their residence. However, due TomoTherapy is a combination of existing technologies, the level of experience specifically in TomoTherapy is less important than a doctor's overall experience in the treatment of radiation therapy.

The chemotherapy drugs: Few side effects known YOU need to know!

In January 2005 it was reported that cancer has surpassed heart disease - for the first time - as the top killer of Americans aged under 85. In 2002, the most recent year for which information is available, 476009 Americans aged under 85 died of cancer, compared with 450637 died of heart disease. It is estimated that 1372910 new cases of cancer and 570260 cancer deaths are expected this year.

Paclitaxel, a preferred treatment for breast cancer and lung cancer, a risk of cancer promotion and….

Lung cancer remains the biggest cancer killer, projected to claim 163510 lives this year. Paclitaxel will be used in the attempt to save the lives of many of these patients. However, a little-known effect of Paclitaxel is that in a subset of these patients, there will be up to a fivefold increase in the production of interleukin - 8 (IL-8) - a cellular communication molecule that triggers growth of new blood vessels to feed the growth of cancer. In other words, if you fall into this subset of patients, treatment using paclitaxel alone may not be effective in preventing recidivism.

NF-kB blockade enhances the ability to kill cancer Paclitaxel!
IL-8 is under the control of an inflammatory regulating protein called nuclear factor - kappa Beta (NF-kB). During the activation of NF-kB is blocked, IL-8 sec, a bit like a faucet that has been deactivated. Thus, blocking NF-kB activation enhances the ability to kill cancer Paclitaxel. These results were seen with many types of cancer cells, including lung cancer and esophageal cancer cells.

Paclitaxel is not only drug that promotes excessive NF-kB
Paclitaxel is just one of a group of drugs which has the unwanted side effect of the activation of NF-kB. Other drugs in this group include doxorubicin, 5-fluorouracil, cisplatin, VP-16 (etoposide), ARA-C, and Methotrexate. In addition, research shows that excessive NF-kB activity contributes to cancer development in the types of cancers: non-small cell lung cancer, pancreas, liver primary cancer of the head and neck, prostate, breast, esophagus, stomach, colon, Hodgkin's disease and multiple myeloma.

A treatment of chemotherapy, which improves the efficiency… ..
Paclitaxel, along with the other NF-kB activation of chemotherapy drugs, was approved for the treatment of a wide range of cancers. It seems likely that they will continue to be used for the foreseeable future. If you are (or plan to use) Paclitaxel or one another in this group of drugs for the treatment of cancer, there is a symptomatic treatment that you need to know about that improves the effectiveness of these drugs and reduces your risk of a recurrence of cancer.

We have a multi-dimensional approach to reduction of inflammation and Complements Improves the impact of these drugs!

At the learning centre healing in Ann Arbor, MI, where I practice integrative medicine and behavioral oncology, I focus on multi-dimensional ways to empower patients to evaluate and change patterns of eating, behaving , reflection and adaptation which are expected to contribute For the inflammatory reactions in the body. These methods complement the effects of the assassination of cancer Paclitaxel, doxorubicin, 5-FU, and other drugs.

Can clarify genomic tests your specific inflammatory molecular mechanisms that support your cancer
Inflammation is present before, and during the life of a cancer. In cancer, inflammation is a pathological process characterized by injury or destruction of tissues caused by a series of chemical reactions and cellular. It is usually translates into typical signs of pain, heat, redness, swelling and loss of function. However, inflammation is also essential for tissue repair and reconstruction of tissue. Genomic Tests (easily performed with samples of saliva or blood) allows us to create a custom map of your inflammatory tendencies based on your genomic predispositions. This method is revolutionary because it allows you to regulate your genomic capabilities to your advantage, which allows you to reduce the expression of your genes related to inflammation.

What cancer patients need to do is Reducing the expression of genes related to inflammation
Once you know your plan for specific genomic excessive inflammation, we are working together to develop the tools you need to re-define the term of your plan inflammation. These tools must be unique to you, precisely because your abilities expression of genomes are yours. These tools include anti-inflammatory regimes supported by oral and intravenous nutrients that block and down-regulating NF-kB. Remember, this protein is responsible for the abnormal elevation of IL-8 during Paclitaxel administration. By measuring markers of inflammation cell before, during and after chemotherapy treatment, and using your unique tools, we compile a personalized treatment of inflammatory responses record (normal and abnormal), which serves as a reference for the risk of cancer recurrence after treatment of chemotherapy.

With these guidelines personally, you insider knowledge about food choices, attitudes and interpersonal relationships that will be conducive to keeping your genes related to inflammation silent. Patients with high inflammatory markers during chemotherapy are at higher risk for recurrence, and should be monitored more closely and modulate their expression NF-kB after the chemotherapy.

What is important to understand is that:

There is an optimal amount of the expression of NF-kB compatible with health;

Expression excessive contributes to the emergence of diseases like cancer, especially when NF-kB is switched on continuously, and

You have the power and tools to regulate NF-kB expression.

Become the captain of your team healing!
As your doctor-coach, I recommend that you become the master of your team healing, and that me and my team partner with you in order to clarify the specific molecular mechanisms behind the wheel of your cancer. We coach with the skills and master the tools needed to reduce the collective contribution of food, their feelings and attitudes to the excessive expression of genes associated with inflammation. By working together, we learn how to adjust your pattern inflammation by modulating the expressive ability of NF-kB. The modulation of the expression of your NF-kB is the game of self-discovery, consciousness expansion, forgiveness, and cells (self-) renewal is what allows healing to occur. Cancer is a disease that painful who needs no introduction and lung cancer is one of the most common forms. It is said that early detection of cancer is the key to prevention.

Extensive research at Mesothelioma clinical research have revealed some of the symptoms of lung cancer closely linked to the disease.

The symptoms of lung cancer
People addicted to tobacco and those who are constantly exposed to the harmful effects of asbestos are more susceptible to lung cancer. Ignorance about the symptoms of lung cancer can lead to a real case exploded.

Be on the alert if you have to cough most of the time. It is one of the first symptoms. Another symptom can be a change in the nature of the cough. Other symptoms may be short of breath and coughing up blood-stained sputum. Mesothelioma research has established that the pain in breathing, loss of appetite, fatigue and weight loss can also be the first symptoms of lung cancer.

These are seen as the first symptoms of lung cancer. There are too many secondary symptoms. Sudden development of a hoarse voice, is a symptom of lung cancer secondary. Difficulty in swallowing is regarded as another symptom of lung cancer. Swelling of the face due to blockage of the main blood vessels and swelling of the neck due to enlarged lymph nodes can be other symptoms too.

Treatment of pain in the right region of fish and shortness of breath caused by the accumulation of fluid as warning signs of lung cancer. If you notice any of them, see your doctor for a check-up.
Let's combat the deadly cancer of the lung.

Can You Reduce Your Risk of Breast Cancer

Ou hear all the time… lose weight for your health.

2. Match your diet to the needs of your body. If you eat and drink more calories than your body you need to gain weight. Learning to control portion size and calories, make recipes leaner, and rarely eat fast food restaurants. Also learn to taste with healthy choices.

Asbestos: A Deadly Environmental & Health Hazard

Asbestos is a term used for some naturally occurring minerals that form long thin fibers and fiber bundles on crystallization. Most commonly found group is the serpentine group that includes Chrysotile (white asbestos). It is also the most frequently mined form of Asbestos. Another very important asbestos group is known as the amphiboles, which includes Crocidolite (blue asbestos) and Amosite (brown asbestos). The asbestos fibers have high tensile strength, and chemical, electrical and heat resistance properties and so are extremely useful as a building/insulation material. Asbestos has been used extensively all over the world.

Asbestos: General Information
Although Asbestos is a hazardous material, it poses a health risk only if the Asbestos fibers become airborne and subsequently inhaled. Therefore, most Asbestos materials pose little health risk unless they are disturbed in a way that allows the fibers to be released into the atmosphere. Inhalation of asbestos fibers can lead to serious diseases such as lung cancer, Mesothelioma (a cancer of the lining of the lungs or lower digestive tract) and asbestosis (a chronic fibrosis of the lungs).

Many industries used Asbestos extensively in the past, exposing their workers to this deadly materials. As a result, many new cases of Asbestos caused ailments are occurring now. However, the fact that Asbestos was also installed in many buildings means that a wider range of people still have the potential to be exposed – particularly building and maintenance workers. For this reason, the latest revision of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations introduces (from May 2004) a new responsibility on those responsible for non-domestic premises to manage the asbestos contained in them.

Asbestos Caused Diseases
Mesothelioma is a cancer of the pleural and peritoneal lining. It exclusively related to asbestos exposure. By the time it is diagnosed, it is usually fatal. Mesothelioma has a long latency period (time between exposure and onset of disease) of at least 15 years and sometimes as long as 60 years.

Asbestosis is a scarring of the lung tissue. This scarring impairs the elasticity of the lung and hampers its ability to exchange gases. This leads to inadequate oxygen intake to the blood. Asbestosis restricts breathing leading to decreased lung volume and increased resistance in the airways. It is a slowly progressive disease with a latency period of 15 to 30 years.

Lung Cancer is a malignant tumor of the bronchi covering. The tumor grows through surrounding tissue, invading and often obstructing air passages. Again, the disease has a long latency period of at least 20 years.

The victims of all these asbestos related diseases are eligible to file lawsuits for compensation against the persons and organizations responsible for causing asbestos exposure. They can take the help of mesothelioma and asbestos attorneys to fight their compensation claims.

Avoid Further Mesothelioma Injury Through Prompt Treatment

Mesothelioma injury can be classified into three main groups, Pleural (chest), Peritoneal (abdominal) and Pericardial (heart). All three types of Mesothelioma injury are mainly cause through exposure to an Asbestos related substance.

Mesothelioma injury arises when the Mesothelioma cells surrounding the lungs, heart, or abdominal organs become cancerous. The Mesothelioma cells change to form nodules, which can then clump together to form a tumor, or tumors around the organ.

In more extreme cases of Mesothelioma Cancer, the Mesothelioma tumor can break through the walls of the organs that it surrounds and cause internal damage to the organ. Also, in some cases the Cancer can travel through the blood stream and affect other organs, not directly surrounded by the original Mesothelioma Cancerous Cells.

The origins of Mesothelioma injury begin when a person is exposed to an asbestos related substance. The person either inhales the Asbestos fibers, or the fibers enter the skin. These fibers either lodge in the lungs, or travel through the body and affect the heart, or abdominal organs.

The bodies natural defense system will attempt to eradicate the fibers from the body, through attempts to expel the fibers. However, some fibers will become lodged in the Mesothelioma cell layers that provide a protective layer around the lungs, heart and abdominal area.

Over time, the Mesothelioma cells surrounding the fibers, can change consistency and become cancerous. It is at this stage that the Mesothelioma injury begins to occur, as it turns into Mesothelioma.

However, Mesothelioma injury also includes the conditional affects that occur as a result of having Mesothelioma Cancer. Some of these conditional affects include, immune deficiency, which can lead to a slow break down of the bodies defense system.

Once the bodies defense system begins to break down the body can become subject to colds and other such illnesses. The overall affects of having Mesothelioma Cancer can lead to an array of Mesothelioma injuries and has the potential to cause major organ failure.

In order to prevent the adverse affects of Mesothelioma injury, Mesothelioma doctors have been implementing various treatments that aim to prevent further damage. Some of these treatments include, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immune augmentative therapy.

In regard to Mesothelioma Cancer, Surgery aims to remove the Cancerous Mesothelioma cells, while chemotherapy uses drugs to kill the Cancerous cells. Radiation therapy also aims to eliminate the Mesothelioma cells, while immune augmentative therapy aims to restore the body’s natural immune system to a level in which it can be effective in helping to fight the effects of Mesothelioma Cancer.

All of these treatment methods are aimed at preventing further Mesothelioma injury to the patient. If you, or someone you know, have been diagnosed with Mesothelioma Cancer, ensure that you seek immediate treatment to prevent the affects of Mesothelioma Cancer and to avoid further Mesothelioma injury.

Battling cancer

is a tough time in anyone’s life. Perhaps the toughest. That’s why we’ve decided to write this article on how to care for yourself during radiation for Breast Cancer.

It very important to properly care for yourself during radiation for breast cancer. Keep in mind that after radiation you could feel fatigued for up to six weeks. Sleep as much as you like during this time – one thing you really need is your rest.

Also, make sure after radiation that you wear a comfortable bra. Making sure your bra fits properly and doesn’t rub in any way is all part of good care for yourself during radiation for breast cancer. If a part of your bra rubs place a soft cloth between the bra and your skin.

Weight loss can be a problem after radiation treatment. In order to properly care for yourself during radiation for breast cancer make sure you eat a balanced diet. This will help you to avoid weight loss and keep your energy levels as high as possible.

Keep the skin fold area under your breast clean and talk to your doctor before using any powders, lotions, deodorants or perfumes. As part of your care for yourself during breast cancer radiation you need to make sure you are not using any products that might react with your skin at this time or do something to affect the radiation treatment in any way. Because of this it is best to avoid deodorants. Deodorants contain magnesium, and this can inhibit the effectiveness of the radiation treatment. To avoid reactions with the treated area, also avoid starching your clothes.

As part of care for yourself during radiation for breast cancer bathe the treated area in lukewarm water. This is because hot and cold water can damage your skin.

Whiskey: An Antidote For Cancer?

For a quite a number of years, liquor has been known not only to bring destructive intoxication and addiction upon its patrons, but also as deterrent to a healthy lifestyle. But as a potential weapon against cancer? Sounds controversial.

Rumors that single malt whiskey may be a tool to combat cancer have begun circulating recently. Whether it actually holds any water has yet to be proven. According to one of the theory’s proponents, a consultant to the whiskey industry, Dr. Jim Swan, the antioxidants present in whiskey, particularly ellagic acid, can reduce the risk of developing cancer, since this acid fights the unstable atoms that aid in rapid cell replication. He added that the more cells were produced, the more likely that rogue cancer cells will be born. “Whiskey can protect you from cancer and science proves it,” he said, speaking at the EuroMedLab 2005 conference in Glasgow. Dr Swan explained that ellagic acid, which is in greater concentration in whiskey than in red wine, breaks down the harmful free radicals present in our body.

However, Cancer Research UK remains unconvinced. The agency has raised concerns that what Dr Swan and his supporters are pushing might mislead consumers into drinking excessive amounts of whiskey just to avoid cancer. Cancer Research noted that liquor intake can eventually lead to certain kinds of cancer, such as those in the esophagus, throat, mouth, bowel and liver. Dr Swan’s idea that whiskey can prevent cancer also received criticism, owing mostly to an absence of population data supporting them. Contrariwise, according to the agency’s head of cancer information Lesley Walker, there exists evidence that high alcohol consumption does increase cancer risks. Ms Walker noted that while ellagic acid is a formidable antioxidant and may greatly aid in the fight against cancer, its presence in whiskey is not reason enough for people to begin drinking up, especially as ellagic acid can also be found in certain fruits.

The concept that a certain type of alcohol may help deter cancer is novel and, for frequent drinkers, even noble. What liquor patron would ignore this theory? But, still, Dr Swan’s ideas remain untested and there does not exist any known positive link between whiskey and cancer. If there would be something that suggest this is true sometime in the future, then it will be considered revolutionary. However, in the absence of adequate information at present, whiskey as a deterrent to cancer is a dubious thought. While we all hope and pray that an alternative treatment to cancer will surface soon, this is probably not the time to become this optimistic about whiskey’s alleged benefits.

Are asbestos fibers visible to the eye ?

If you are in the construction business or employed by an industry that uses products containing asbestos, you may wonder “Are asbestos fibers visible to the eye”? Generally asbestos fibers are too small to be seen by the naked eye. Asbestos becomes dangerous when it has broken down into small fibers and is inhaled. It is nearly impossible to detect the presence of asbestos without taking the material to a lab for testing. A lab technician will put the material under a microscope to search for asbestos fibers. Asbestos does not cause an immediate reaction. It will not cause you to cough, sneeze, or your eyes to water. You cannot see, smell, or taste asbestos. If you skin becomes contaminated with asbestos it will not burn or itch.

Asbestos related diseases have a very long latency period. This is the time frame from when you are first exposed to asbestos until you become ill. Most persons do not become ill for at least ten years after exposure and some not until over forty years later. Asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma are all asbestos related diseases. Asbestosis occurs when asbestos fibers enter the lungs. The body will naturally produce an acid to combat the fibers. However, this acid can cause scarring in the tissue of the lungs and in advanced stages breathing becomes more difficult and painful. Asbestosis was first documented in shipyard workers. Asbestos can also cause lung cancer. If a person smokes and is exposed to asbestos, they have a much greater chance of developing lung cancer. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that has only been linked to asbestos exposure. It is a cancer of the cells that line the peritoneum (area surrounding the abdominal organs) and the pleura (area outside of the lungs and inside of the ribs).

There is a lot of debate and controversy surrounding which types of asbestos is harmful. Some types of asbestos are thought to be more dangerous than others but all types of asbestos exposure should be avoided. Actinolite, amosite, anthophyllite, crocidolite, chrysotile (white asbestos), and tremolite are all types of asbestos. Chrysotile is the type of asbestos most commonly used in manufacturing products.

Asbestos fibers are not visible to the eye. If you feel you may have been exposed to asbestos, the most common method for testing is a chest x-ray. The x-ray will not show the asbestos fibers but it can spot early signs of lung disease. There is no known cure for asbestos related diseases.

What You Really Need to Know About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer). Each year, in the United States alone, approximately 220,000 women are told they have breast cancer. Upon hearing this unexpected and overwhelming news, a woman is faced with having to make treatment choices within a very short period of time. While curable if detected early, breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women ages 35 to 54.

Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases. Cancer occurs when, for unknown reasons, cells become abnormal and multiply without control or order. All parts of the body are made up of cells that normally divide to produce more cells only when the body needs them. When cancer occurs, cells keep dividing even when new cells are not needed.

There are several types of breast cancer. The most common is ductal carcinoma, which begins in the lining of the milk ducts within the breast. Another type, lobular carcinoma, begins in the lobules where breast milk is produced. If a cancerous tumor invades nearby tissue, it is called invasive cancer.

Cancer cells may spread beyond the breast to other lymph nodes, or the bones, liver or lungs. When breast cancer spreads, it is called metastatic breast cancer even though it is found in another part of the body. For example, breast cancer that has spread to the liver is called metastatic breast cancer, not liver cancer.

Doctors can not always explain why one person gets cancer and another does not. Medical researchers are, however, learning about what happens inside cells that may cause cancer. They have identified changes in certain genes within breast cells that can be linked to a higher risk for breast cancer. Genetic changes may be inherited from a parent or may accumulate throughout a person's lifetime. Breast cancer usually begins with a single cell that transforms from normal to malignant over a period of time. Presently, however, no one can predict exactly when cancer will occur or how it will progress.

Every woman has some chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. As women get older, those chances increase. Overall, a woman's chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer is 1 out of 8. Even though breast cancer is more common in older women, it also occurs in younger women and even in a small number of men (1,300 cases per year in the U.S.).

While there is yet no preventive to stop breast cancer, early detection is vital to surviving the disease. There are three things women can, and should do. Get an annual mammogram (special X-ray screening) after the age of 50; regular (yearly) breast examination by a doctor; and breast self-examination (BSE) at least once a month.

If breast cancer is detected, it is important to remember there is no single treatment that is "right" for all women. As with most medical conditions, there is no "one-size-fits-all" treatment or cure. And all breast cancers are not alike. Breast cancer is a complex disease. Once breast cancer has been found, more tests will be done to find the specific pattern of your particular cancer. This is an important step called staging.

Knowing the exact stage of your disease will help your doctor plan your course of treatment. Your doctor will want to know: the size of the tumor; if the cancer has spread within your breast; if cancer is present in your underarm lymph nodes; if cancer is present in other parts of your body.

There are many options available and you can always ask more than one doctor about your diagnosis and treatment plan. Your best start is to gain as much knowledge about the disease and the treatments as possible. Find answers to your questions and gain assistance in your fight against a terrifying enemy. Remember, there are no "dumb" questions when you are faced with cancer.

Most women who are treated for early breast cancer go on to live healthy, active, productive lives. The best chance of survival is early detection, so plan for mammograms, have yearly visits with your doctor, and use self-examination frequently. This can be achieved through your general GP’s general enquiries on your behalf, or through conducting your own research. You might even consider making enquiries with the American Cancer Society, who hold a variety of information about different types of Cancer and where to seek help. When seeking help it is best to research all your available options and then choose the best one for you.

Some of the important information that you might need to tell your Mesothelioma Doctor include, what types of symptoms you are experiencing, how long ago since you were exposure to an Asbestos related substance and for how long where you exposed to the Asbestos related substance. After you receive and initial consultation from your Mesothelioma Doctor, you may be required to undergo either a Chest CT scan, or a biopsy, depending on which type of Mesothelioma Cancer your Mesothelioma Doctor considers that you have.

Essentially, there are three possible types of Mesothelioma Cancer that you could have. These include, Pleural (Lungs) Mesothelioma Cancer, Peritoneal (abdominal) and Pericardial (heart). Once your Mesothelioma Cancer doctor has made a definitive diagnosis, he/she will then be able to tell you which type of Mesothelioma Cancer you have, at what stage the Mesothelioma Cancer is, whether it has spread to surrounding organs, or whether it is contained within the original area of the diseases initiation.

Your Mesothelioma doctor will then discuss your treatment options in relation to the type of Mesothelioma Cancer that you have and what stage the Cancer is at. Your Mesothelioma Doctor should explain these options in detail, including any side affects and the recovery period. Your Mesothelioma Doctor should also explain to you what the results of not undergoing these recommended treatment options could be. Essentially, your Mesothelioma Doctor should give you a detailed explanation of your entire prognosis.

Your prognosis should include details regarding any risks that you may be subjected to, the chances of the Cancer reoccurring following treatment and how long you are expected to survive once treatment has been implemented.

Keep in mind that through ongoing research into Mesothelioma Cancer, treatments are becoming more effective and patients diagnosed with Mesothelioma Cancer, who undergo treatment, are surviving for longer periods of time.

Understanding The Relation Between Asbestos Exposure And Mesothelioma Lung Cancer

An understanding of asbestos is necessary before we try to understand mesothelioma lung cancer. Asbestos, a natural fibrous mineral, used commonly in construction process and manufacturing industries is detrimental to human health. Continuous inhalation of its fibers enhances the susceptibility to respiratory disorders and can lead to many dangerous diseases. A leading example of such dangerous disease is Mesothelioma lung cancer. Actually, mesothelioma lung cancer is misnomer because mesothelioma cancers affect the lining of lungs (pleura) and abdomen and not the lungs. Since mesothelioma cancers mostly affect the lining of the lungs, it is generally called mesothelioma lung cancer. The workers who had worked in industries such as shipbuilding, asbestos mining, and asbestos production are vulnerable to mesothelioma cancers.

Mesothelioma and the Role of Carcinogens:
What is mesothelioma cancer and how does the lining of the lung become cancerous? Cancer is a tumor that is malignant in nature. Tumor is formed when there is abnormal cell division and cell multiplication in the cancerous cells. Exposure to carcinogens or cancer-causing material like cigarette smoke, asbestos and silica dust is instrumental in this abnormal cell division and formation of tumor.

Mesothelioma cancer is directly linked to asbestos exposure. However, those already exposed to asbestos have a greater chance of developing lung cancer if they are exposed to other carcinogens such as cigarette smoke. A study reports that the workers with a history of asbestos exposure and cigarette smoke are more prone to lung cancer than the non-smokers and those with no history of asbestos exposure.

Complications Associated with Mesothelioma Cancer:
Normally, the latency stage for asbestos-related diseases in general and mesothelioma cancers of the lining of lung in particular, 20-50 years, which makes detection of Mesothelioma a complicated issue. This situation is further aggravated particularly where the worker is also addicted to cigarette smoking. By the time, the disease shows its symptoms, a considerable exposure to additional carcinogens linked to cigarette smoking has already taken place. This makes a worker more vulnerable to lung cancer besides the vulnerability to mesothelioma cancers.

Mesothelioma Cancers and Legal Redress:
The Government is conscious of the ill effects of asbestos exposure and the seriousness of mesothelioma cancer. The employees working in factories with significant risk of asbestos exposure are eligible for Mesothelioma compensation, if the exposure is the cause of Mesothelioma. There has been a spate of lawsuits for seeking compensation for mesothelioma and lung cancers. In many cases, the courts have awarded heavy sums as compensation against the asbestos manufacturing companies.

How Diet Influences Cancer Risk

Diet is a double edged sword. Improper diet increases the risk of cancer but a proper, well balanced diet reduces the cancer risk.

Diet is one of the most important lifestyle factors and has been estimated to account for up to 80% of cancers of the large bowel, breast, and prostate. Diet affects the risk of many other cancers, including cancers of the lung, prostate, stomach, esophagus and pancreas.

Prostate Cancer:
High consumption of meat, especially red meat, substantially increases the risk of prostate cancer. Vegetables, especially cooked tomatoes, reduce the risk of prostate cancer. In one clinical trial, the role of Vitamin E as a prostate cancer reducing factor was established. In this study there was a 32% decrease in prostate cancer incidence and 41% decrease in prostate cancer mortality in people receiving Vitamin E supplements when compared to controls.

Breast Cancer:
In Japan, people consume Tofu, a soya product. It contains isoflavones that moderate the estrogen receptors in the body such as breast tissue. The incidence of breast cancer is low in Japan when compared to Western women; only 1/4th of the mortality rate of Western women. Japanese women's low fat diet, high fish consumption and drinking green tea also decrease their breast cancer risk.

One case control study found that regular consumption of soy foods was associated with a marked decrease in breast cancer risk in premenopausal women. No effect in post-menopausal women.

A Japanese case-control study also found that tofu intake (3 times/wk compared with less than 3 times/wk) was associated with decreased risk of breast cancer in premenopausal women. Again, soy intake was not protective against post-menopausal breast cancer.

In one study conducted in America, the relation between soy intake and breast cancer risk found that tofu consumption was protective in both premenopausal and post menopausal Asian women.

Lung Cancer:
Lung cancer risk is substantially decreased by a variety of carotenoids. Carotenoids act as antioxidants and thus minimize cell damage. One study in Boston focused on the effect of different types of carotenoids on lung cancer risk. It was observed that lung cancer risk was significantly lower in subjects who consumed a diet high in a variety of carotenoids. This was especially true with non-smokers who had 63% less risk.

One study conducted in Hawaii reported further evidence for a protective effect from certain carotenoids against lung cancer and that greater protection was afforded by consuming a variety of vegetables compared to only foods rich in a particular carotenoid.

Stomach Cancer:
Nitrates in food and other preservatives added to food including meat are converted into 'nitrites' in the human stomach. The nitrites undergo nitrosation to form 'nitrosamines' and 'nitrosamides'. This increases the risk of stomach cancer in people eating vegetables from nitrate rich soil.

In one study, Vitamin C appeared to protect against the risk of stomach cancer by inhibiting formation of nitrates in stomach.

Cancer of the stomach is 5 times more common in Japanese people compared to Western populations. When Japanese people migrated to the United States, they progressively acquired the low incidence of the US due to changes in their diets.

In one study conducted in Hawaii that involved both Japanese and Caucasians, the stomach cancer risk was associated with consumption of rice, pickled vegetables, and dried/salted fish, and a negative association with vitamin C intake.

One ecological study in Belgium showed a relation between the nitrate and salt consumption and stomach cancer. The analysis of this model showed that the significance of nitrate as a risk factor for stomach cancer mortality increased markedly with higher sodium levels.

Dietary habits and stomach cancer risk was studied in Shanghai, China. According to this study, risks of stomach cancer were inversely associated with high consumption of several food groups, including fresh vegetables and fruits, poultry, eggs, plant oil, and some nutrients such as protein, fat, fiber, tea and antioxidant vitamins.

By contrast, risks increased with increasing consumption of dietary carbohydrates, frequent consumption of preserved, salty or fried foods and hot soup/porridge, with irregular meals, speed eating and binge eating. This provides evidence that diet plays a major role in stomach cancer risk.

No single food can completely prevent cancer but a balanced combination of different groups can help. Appropriate diet can prevent 3-4 million cancers each year.

Haven’t you got your breast cancer awareness bracelet yet ?

By now you should be familiar with the yellow 'LiveStrong' rubber cancer awareness bracelets. They were popularized by seven-time Tour de France cycling champion and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The money from their proceeds goes for cancer research.

If he has planning to pitchfork cancer awareness into society's consciousness, Lance Armstrong has done a really good job. His rubber bracelets are ubiquitous today, an ever present awareness tool for cancer, and a fund-raising tool for cancer research.

Among cancer awareness bracelets, next to Armstrong's rubber wristbands come the breast cancer awareness bracelets. However, unlike the 'LiveStrong' rubber band bracelets, these breast cancer awareness bracelets come in different colors. The most popular color for breast cancer awareness bracelets is pink.

But why pink? There is a story behind it: Charlotte Haley, a 68-year-old woman, began making and distributing peach ribbons in the 1990s with cards that read: "The National Cancer Institute annual budget is $1.8 billion, only 5 percent goes for cancer prevention. Help us wake up our legislators and America by wearing this ribbon." Haley's daughter, sister and grandmother had breast cancer. Self magazine wanted to use Haley's ribbon but she refused saying they were too commercial. The magazine came up with another color then -- pink. Focus groups say pink is 'soothing, comforting and healing.' Soon the pink ribbon became the worldwide symbol for breast cancer, and Charlotte Haley's peach ribbon was history.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. says that more than 211,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in America in 2005. Of these 43,300 will die. One woman in eight either has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. In addition, 1,600 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 400 will die this year.

However, the breast cancer awareness bracelets can come in all colors, a rainbow of them, depending on the organization or charity selling them. These bracelets usually have some message, such as 'Support Breast Cancer Research And Education' stamped on them.

Well, the breast cancer awareness bracelets needn't be made of rubber or silicone either. The bracelets can be made of pearl, or cats eye, or metal, or any other suitable material. There are even stainless steel breast cancer awareness bracelets! The difference between them is, of course, the price. The rubber ones would sell for around $1 a piece. The metal ones would sell higher. Some pearl breast cancer awareness bracelets sell for around $30 a piece. Such bracelets serve two purposes -- they are jewelry and also spread the message of charity and breast cancer research.

The advantage with rubber breast cancer awareness bracelets, apart from the price, is that they are infinitely customizable. Yes, you can order them in any color and with any message stamped on them. You needn't take them off while washing or playing -- they are all-weather bracelets. And you don't have to worry about losing them, unlike the pearl or cats eye ones. The rubber breast cancer awareness bracelets can be ordered in bulk or bought in packets of a dozen or so from many Web sites.

Prostate cancer; In America alone, 25% of all deaths are related to cancer. Many people think of cancer as a single problem but in fact, it is a number of problems spread throughout the body. Generally speaking, if cancer is caught in the early stages of development, it can be treated and cured.

Although there are several different types of cancer, the most common ones are Lung, Prostate, Breast, Testicular, Skin and Colon cancers. Genes control the multiplication and growth of cells. If these genes are defective in the first place, then the cells will not be able to grow or divide properly. As a result of this abnormality, cancerous cells are born.

There are a number of factors which cause cancer. Factors which are controllable by humans are smoking, toxic elements and radiation. These can be controlled to some degree and therefore it would be wise to avoid them by changing lifestyle habits. However, there are certain elements which are outside our control. These include mutation and inherited DNA.

As a result of studies conducted by the American Cancer Society, more than 180,000 people have died as a direct result of smoking. Another 200,000 people have died due to lack of changing lifestyle habits. Obesity, laziness and malnutrition can have an effect on the growth of cancer. Needless to say, cancer has risen by more than 50% since 1995.

Let's take a look at some of these cancer causes in more detail.
Smoking: The most prevalent and easily avoidable type of cancer is the one caused by the use of tobacco. This includes the use of cigarettes, cigars and pipes. Even though smokers are addicted to nicotine, the fact that 200,000 people die every year due to smoking caused cancer should be enough motivation to quit. Some experts say that cessation of smoking can increase lifespan by up to 20 years.

Although nothing has been proven, studies indicate that stress may also be a contributing factor to cancer. Many cancer patients are also employed in stressful jobs. Some theologians believe that stress lowers the bodies immunity to cancer.

Exercise and Healthy Eating: Healthy eating and exercise is universally known to be beneficial in many aspects. But, many people don't know that food full of nutrition can reduce the risk of cancer. Specific foods such as fruit and veg can help prevent cancer whilst fatty foods such as meat can increase the likelihood of cancer.

Skin cancer can easily be avoided by simply listening to good advice. Wear sunglasses, hats, sun cream and other sensible items of clothing to avoid the onset of this type of cancer. Although this may seem like common sense, more than one million people have been diagnosed with skin cancer in a single year.

In summary, some cancers can be avoided. New research and studies are being conducted all the time. So, rather than concentrating on how to treat cancer patients, maybe we should all be looking for more ways to prevent the cancer in the first place.

Male Breast Cancer - what you should know about!

Have you know, that the breast cancer can also catch the man? If the Man's has liver diseases such as cirrhosis, they tend to have lower levels of androgens (male hormones) and on the other hand a higher estrogens levels (female hormones). This reality puts them at an increased risk of developing gynecomastia (non-cancerous tissue growth) and breast cancer.

Symptoms Male Breast Abnormalities :

The most male breast changes are due to benign (non-cancerous) abnormalities, such as gynecomastia (non-cancerous tissue growth)

So, the men should report any persistent breast changes to their physicians for clinical evaluation.

The Symptoms of male breast cancer may include:

a breast lump,

swelling,

skin dimpling or puckering,

nipple retraction (the nipple turns inward),

redness or scaling of the nipple or breast skin,

and nipple discharge http://imaginis.com/breasthealth/nipple.asp.

How to treating Male Breast Cancer : This will be depending on the type and stage http://imaginis.com/breasthealth/staging.asp of breast cancer.

The following treatment will most likely be used: Surgery - Radiation therapy - Chemotherapy - Hormone therapy

About the Survival Rates for Male Breast Cancer
Today, the survival rates are similar the women cancer, when the treatment of the tumour begins at the same stage. Anyway, the male breast cancer tends to be diagnosed in later stages than female breast cancer.

The following chart is an approximate survival rate for each stage of breast cancer. More than 1.5 million people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year worldwide. Scientists don't know why most women get breast cancer, yet breast cancer is the most frequent tumor found in women the world over. A woman who dies of breast cancer is robbed of an average of nearly 20 years of her life. Breast cancer knows no social boundaries. It’s a disease that can affect anyone. Some prominent women who’s lives that have been touched by breast cancer include Jill Eikenberry actress age 52; Peggy Fleming age 49 figure skater; Kate Jackson age 50 (Charlies Angels); Olivia Newton-John age 50 actress singer; Nancy Reagan age 77 former first lady; Melissa Etheridge age 43 singer; and the beautiful Suzanne Summers actress. These high rates of breast cancer are not acceptable to the women of the world and must be met with scientific research that provides results.

Despite over a decade of research, and more than $1.7 billion spent, hundereds of women worldwide are dying from breast cancer every day. Yet doctors don’t know how breast cancer starts or how to cure it. Doctors are still approaching treatment for breast cancer in the same old fashioned ways: surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Barbarick treatments…And scientists keep doing the same old redundant research that’s simply not working. It doesn’t have to be that way. Gen Cells Cures is a scientific biotechnology company that is focused on a cure for breast cancer. The company is dedicated to curing breast cancer before it’s too late for you. We’re not interested in a cure in five, ten, or twenty years from now. We want your cure for breast cancer within a year or two. We don’t want you to have to under go surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or take toxic drugs.

Why Gen Cells Cures? You can search the medical journals; you can search the internet until your blue in the face. You will find the same old news which is no new news about breast cancer research and treatments. Breast cancer research is locked up in a black whole. Gen Cells Cures is approaching the cure for breast cancer from different angles and using tomorrow’s scientific technologies today. Our expertise is in stem cell research and genomics. Malfunctioning stem cells have already been linked to the development of breast cancer. We’re not talking about using generic stem cells from an egg and sperm cell. There is no genetic match for you with the politically controversial generic stem cells that are always in the news. The isolation of cancer stem cells, coupled with our understanding of genetic mutations causing cancer, and our knowledge of genomics will result in ways to eliminate cancer cells while sparing normal breast tissues.

Genetics and Breast Cancer
People will tell you to accept what you can’t change…Your genetics, your genes, the genes your mother and father handed you when you were born that came with their particular genetic make-up. Most inherited cases of breast cancer have been associated with two genes: BRCA1 and BRCA2. The past five years has been a period of unparalleled discovery in the field of genetics, genomics, and stem cell research, but these discoveries are not being applied to breast cancer treatments. A job that Gen Cells Cures definitely wants to get our hands dirty in. Recently researchers have found that by blocking a gene called beta1-integrin the growth of tumor cells can be stopped. When this gene was removed the tumor cells quit growing. You don’t have to accept the genes that you were given at birth. Gen Cells Cures will be able to manipulate your genes to cure your breast cancer.

Our Cancer Stem Cell and Genomics Program will bring together the top scientific minds in the world under one tin roof to maximize the use of diverse approaches to the understanding of cancer genomics fused with stem cell solutions. Gen Cells Cures isn’t looking for a multi-million dollar biomedical research center like the Stowers Institute in Kansas City, which is a medical center to be admired. A rented tin shack will do just fine. Of course, we would accept hand-me down michroscopes from the Stoweres (billionaires who bought their own multi-million dollar biomedical research center) if they would be gracious enough to grant them to us or we would accept a small prime the pump check to move forward with our research. The Stowerses and all the scientists from the Stowers Institute have an open invitation to visit our lab in the Caribbean. What we are looking for is a cure for breast cancer to stop the humiliation, pain and suffering this menace to society causes millions of women and thousands of men worldwide, and not a new biomedical center… Every dollar invested with us goes into pure medical research and equipment. The same offer goes out to all the millionaires and especially the billionaires of the world. People that come to mind are: Paul Allen, Bill and Melinda Gates, Jon Huntsman, William and Alice Goodman, Ann Lurie, Jamie and Karen Moyer, Harold C. Simmons, Alfred Mann, Sumner M. Redstone, Michael Milton and the Palm beach billionaires, there are simply too many to mention. The combined wealth of the three Microsoft billionaires alone is more than ten times the amount spent by the U.S. Federal Government on research to fight cancer and other deadly diseases. We know we’re in the wrong business to become billionaires ourselves. This kind of biotechnology has never produced even one billionaire. It’s the cure for breast cancer that we want.

Simply put the cancer research organizations are funding the wrong researchers. It’s time to go outside the normal research channels. Do something different. The same story year after year after year and no cure. These unmotivated researchers just aren’t getting results. Let someone else have a shot at it. It’s time to try something new and different. A different approach. There are races for the cure, golf tournaments for the cure, there are walks for the cure, there are foundations for the cure. These foundations have been funding the same ineffective research for more than twenty years now. These foundations have been betting on the wrong horse. Joining the crusade won’t help if the research being done doesn’t take on a twenty-first century scientific approach. It’s been time to move forward scientifically for five years now. But today’s breast cancer researchers are stuck in a twentieth century mind-set. The Excuse is someday we’ll find the cure, but someday doesn’t help today’s victims of breast cancer. We need top notch scientific action today.

The genetics are out of the bottle and stem cell research is moving forward whether the U.S. government likes it or not. Gen Cells Cures has moved off-shore to the Caribbean to avoid the political controversy over stem cell research. I am sure you won’t mind a walk on the beach with me to talk about your cure for your breast cancer. Once we have the cure we can take the cure from the bench to the patient without a long and costly wait for FDA approval. There are many advantages to not having big brother breathing down your neck. The governments of the United States and Western countries have nothing to offer except road blocks, red tape and detours. Our patients don’t have time for political smoke and mirrors. With a little luck we could have your cure before the time comes that you need that dreaded surgery and chemo.

Our gifted world-class researchers are visionary and have been schooled in winning and have courage, creativity, can-do attitudes, burning desires, unfaltering belief and an obsession that they will be there first. By first we mean years ahead of the other biotechnology companies. Like determined, fighting NASCAR drivers our scientists are living to take the chequered flag of biotech and win the coveted race for the cure for breast cancer.

Focused on breakthrough discoveries, Gen Cells Cures nurtures a culture that encourages high standards of excellence, original thinking, hard work and a willingness to take risks. Our world-renowned scientists believe in themselves and its belief that gets us there. The company will seek to develop a work environment that is results focused and team-orientated. We compete against time. Though we compete intensely we maintain high ethical standards and trust and respect for each other. Quality is the cornerstone of all our activities. We seek the highest quality information, decisions and people. Our success depends on superior scientific innovation. We see the scientific method as a multi-step process which includes designing the right experiment, collecting and analyzing data and rational decision making. It is not subjective or emotional but rather a logical, open and rational process.

Our success comes from one simple fact; we are committed to being a science-based, patient-driven company, driven by that one special breast cancer patient…you.

Gen Cells Cures lost most of our one million dollar start-up money in offshore bank scandal and currency devaluation last year. We are now actively pursuing financial support. Unfortunately, the Gen Cells Cures team is made up of great scientific minds and not great marketers, salesmen, or fund raisers. Yes, we are looking for a millionaire or billionaire without a cause to support our work, but if you are not our wealthy saviour, we welcome any help, be it financial or a donation of your time. The scientific team is on stand-by. What we’re lacking is the funding to go forward. We could use motivated salesmen to sell our research, fund raisers, skilled internet marketers or someone just to pass out flyers or mail out promotional material. We could use help from the media with publicity stories, ads and promotions to get the word out. We are particularly interested in looking for assistance from the billionaires of the world; there are approximately 600 in the world. Billionaires like Sergey Brin and Larry Page (Google billionaires), Rupert Murdoch, Ted Turner, and Oprah Winfrey and others who control the media could get our life-saving message to the world fast. We are also hoping that some of my celebrities friends will come forward and spread their wings to help support our breast cancer research: Steven Seagal, Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Danny Glover, Erik Estrada, Tom Arnold, Dolph Lundgren, Roger Clinton, Bill Clinton, Usher, Hulk Hogan, Ivana Trump, John Secada, Sylvester Stalone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mike Reno, Richard Branson, Cindy Crawford, Cher, Demi Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, and other stars that I have had the good fortune of meeting in person and others celebrities that I hope to meet in the future. (Photos of Gerald and the stars can be viewed at his promotional group listed below.) I am waiting to get my photo with Suzanne Summers!

Gen Cells Cure offers more than hope. We can do the job. If you’re going to eradicate cancer you have to have the right people doing the right research. One thing is for sure. We couldn’t do any worse than what the scientists before us have done. Which is virtually nothing! Help us alleviate the pain and suffering. Together, with your help, we can cure breast cancer.

Alternative forms of medicine for cancer patient

Alternative forms of medicine like: Acupuncture can be used for providing pain relief.

Herbal Medicine helps strengthen the body's ability to eliminate cancer cells. They do not however cure cancer, but can definitely prolong the life of a person suffering from cancer.

Homeopathy is effective in providing relief from the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Mind and Body Treatment focuses on a persons emotions, behaviour and faith. It is believed that a person must maintain a positive attitude and live a life free of mental and emotional stress. Massage and reflexology have also been found to be effective in strengthening cells and promoting the release of anti-cancer hormones in the body. The Mind and Body treatment has been found to be very effective and powerful in dealing with cancer, and perhaps even preventing it.

Nutrition and Diet has been found to be effective in preventing tissue and cell damage and ensuring the proper immune function of the body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been found to be effective in providing relief from the side effects of the conventional treatments of cancer. Practitioners of this form of medicine recommend the use of herbs like Asian Ginseng, Astragalus and Dong Quai.
